The Healthcare CV in Switzerland
Switzerland recruits heavily in healthcare and life sciences — hospitals, clinics, care homes, and a world-leading pharma cluster around Basel. For regulated roles, your CV has to signal two things clearly: that you're qualified, and that your qualification is (or will be) recognised here.
Diploma recognition comes first
Regulated professions (nursing, medicine, pharmacy, physiotherapy and more) require recognition of foreign diplomas — via the Swiss Red Cross (SRK/CRS) for many health professions and MEBEKO for doctors. On your CV, state your recognition status explicitly ("diploma recognition in progress / obtained"), because it's the recruiter's first question.
Language level is a hard requirement
Patient-facing roles typically need at least B2 (often C1) in the regional language — German, French or Italian. Put your level (A1–C2) prominently. A correct, localised CV in the right language also signals you can work in it.
What to highlight
- Registration / recognition status and professional title
- Clinical specialities, settings (ICU, OR, geriatrics, oncology…) and patient volumes
- Certifications, continuing education and mandatory trainings
- For pharma/life-sciences: GxP, regulatory, lab and trial experience
Keep the Swiss frame
All the standard Swiss CV conventions still apply: professional photo, personal details, work-permit status, two pages, and scanned diplomas and references in the full dossier.
